SETTLING IN KL

76th day!

It took me seventy-six crazy days of up and down moments to settle down in Kuala Lumpur. It wasn't that easy to live a life like mine but I'm not complaining.

I remember the first time I arrive in Kuala Lumpur with the thought of how I'm gonna manage to unbox three hundred huge boxes by myself, settle down my kids - explain to them that they might never see their friends and classmates in Singapore anymore, that we have a new home now, settle their school, sign up for after school activities and how my social life is going to look like here.

Making improvements. Everyday. I'll get there.jpg

My first month wasn't that easy at all. I have no friends to hang out, no internet connection, lost my phone and survived for 3 weeks without it. I did my best unpacking all the boxes as soon as I can but it wasn't that easy - it's a lot of work and I feel like I've been living a very repetitive life every single day for three weeks. I also started going out to salsa social nights in Havana to loosen up myself and hoping to meet new friends but I wasn't very succesful in my first few nights. I don't understand why sometimes politeness can be mistaken as flirting these days and I hate the fact that women can't seem to be friends with guys. (It doesn't work that way people! sigh..) Men and women can be friends too, you know. But, I didn't give up thinking that not everybody is the same and I'm sure I'll find friends at the right time.

Second month came in and I have been very busy with the Mrs. Asia International beauty pageant but still not missing my social nights, kids time and the continuous progress of unpacking and organizing my house. Hard work but still manageable. I started meeting friends from my social nights, getting regular hang out buddies now and starting to familiarized myself with Malaysia lifestyle.

As my third month approaching, I am all ready and feeling settled now. I feel at ease now that I have managed to organize everything from kids, social life and work. I feel blessed and happy that I have found good people around me and I'm hoping for more good times ahead!
